Upcoming Events

Little Free Library

Girls Inc. is very proud to announce the installation of our "Little Free Library".  We are so grateful to the Junior League of Bristol for the opportunity to provide the community with this resource.  The books are free for anyone to take and we just ask that you return a book in place of the one you took.  The girls love to have the ability to get books whenever they want, making the "Little Free Library" their first stop before they enter the building.  We look forward to the ongoing success as we provide the community with our collection of books.

Schedule Changes

Girls Incorporated follows Bristol, VA City Schools snow policy.  Anytime Bristol Va City closes early or for the entire day then Girls Inc. will be CLOSED also.

Outreach

Girls Inc. of Bristol has an extensive Outreach Program.  This includes a pilot site at Piney Flats United Methodist Church in Piney Flats, Tennessee.  This year-round site serves both boys and girls in that part of Sullivan County.  In addition to this site, we also teach family life to every student at Virginia Middle School and programming at Highland View, Washington-Lee Elementary Schools, and Highlands Juvenile Detention Center.  Our Outreach Program also participates in one-time and yearly community events to reach children in the Bristol area.  We look forward to expanding Outreach in order to reach more of the children around us.

Important Information

Sara Musick Strong, Smart, and Bold Scholarship for Continuing Education.

In March of 2015, Girls Inc. lost one of their own, Sara Musick, who worked as the Director of Outreach.  Sara was loved by all and is missed each and every day at Girls Inc.  Therefore, in her honor and memory, Girls Inc. has started a scholarship fund and a rewarding girl will be honored each year at our annual Board Banquet.

The recipient of 2015 is Virginia High Senior, Ty'Esha Blevins.  Ty'Esha has been with Girls Inc. for several years and is an excellent role model and will succeed at anything she puts her mind to.
