Little Free Library
Girls Inc. is very proud to announce the installation of our "Little Free Library". We are so grateful to the Junior League of Bristol for the opportunity to provide the community with this resource. The books are free for anyone to take and we just ask that you return a book in place of the one you took. The girls love to have the ability to get books whenever they want, making the "Little Free Library" their first stop before they enter the building. We look forward to the ongoing success as we provide the community with our collection of books.
Girls Inc. of Bristol has an extensive Outreach Program. This includes a pilot site at Piney Flats United Methodist Church in Piney Flats, Tennessee. This year-round site serves both boys and girls in that part of Sullivan County. In addition to this site, we also teach family life to every student at Virginia Middle School and programming at Highland View and Washington-Lee Elementary Schools. Along with these programs we provide transportation twice a week for Morrison School. Outreach also participates in one-time and yearly community events to reach children in the Bristol area. We look forward to expanding Outreach in order to reach more of the children around us.

Girls Inc. is Grieving Over the Loss of One of Their Own...
Girls Incorporated recently had an unexpected heartbreak when we lost Sara Iona Musick on March 6, 2015. Sara was the Director of Outreach and had been a part of the Girls Inc. family for two years. She was loved by everyone, especially the children of Outreach, and was highly focused on giving every child she came across a better future. Sara wore many hats here at Girls Inc., including editor, councilor, teacher, friend, and mentor.
Through Outreach, Sara worked with students by teaching family life and programming at Highland View and Washington-Lee Elementary Schools. Her favorite part about going into the schools was walking into the room and being greeted by the kid's smiling faces. She will be remembered by all of the staff and children for her friendly smile and caring hugs. Sara will be greatly missed by every heart she touched.
